About
The Government of the Philippines, through the Financial Sector Forum and Green Force, is convening multisectoral Technical Expert Groups (TEGs) to support the integration of the Circular Economy (CE) objective into the Philippine Sustainable Finance Taxonomy Guidelines (SFTG). The SFTG serves as the country's principal classification system for defining and assessing sustainable economic activities. Updating the taxonomy to reflect CE objectives will establish a robust framework for identifying eligible projects and investments that promote resource efficiency, waste reduction, recycling, and sustainable production and consumption practices. By aligning financing flows with CE activities, the updated SFTG will help catalyze private and public investments toward a zero-waste and resource-efficient economy.
This phase will focus on defining and classifying economic activities that contribute to the Circular Economy in the Philippines, covering the following priority sectors:
๐ง Water Supply; Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation Activities
โ๏ธ Manufacturing
๐ป Information and Communication
๐ Wholesale and Retail Trade
๐ข Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishing
๐๏ธConstruction

Once selected, the Technical Expert Groups members will play a key role in shaping technical criteria, ensuring alignment with national policies, and contributing to the achievement of a credible and actionable green finance framework.
All applications will be assessed using a scoring matrix, with weighted criteria reflecting the qualifications and requirements outlined in the Terms of Reference.
